About

Each year the Oroville Salmon Festival celebrates the return of the salmon to the Feather River. This family-friendly event always takes place on the fourth Saturday in September. This year it will be held on September 25.

Friday, September 25
Drive-In Movie
Located on the Levee next to the Municipal Auditorium
Check-in at 6:30 pm, Movie Starts at 7:30 pm

The Downtown Oroville Business Association will be hosting "Brother Bear" at their drive-in movie. Joe's Lunch To-Go and Sweetwater Shaved Ice will be available for food. Tickets are limited as there is only room for 150 cars. Click Here to sign up for your FREE ticket.

Saturday, September 26
Native Plant Sale
Riverbend Park, 50 Montgomery St. 
7:00 am to 12:00 pm

The Feather River Nature Center will be selling native plants during the Saturday Farmers Market at Riverbend Park. Head out there to help support this wonderful organization.

Feather River Fish Hatchery, 5 Table Mountain Blvd. 
9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Enjoy a kayak tour down the river thank to the Forebay Aquatic Center. Tickets: Youth K-12, $20; Adults, $30. Click Here to purchase tickets.

Directions, Parking, & Finding that perfect spot

Parking
The streets will not be closed this year, and there will be no shuttle service.
  • River Bend Park (view map) From Hwy 70, exit onto Montgomery Street and head west approximately 350 yards towards the Feather River. As you enter the park, there is a large archway that reads “Feather River – Catch the Dream”
  • Municipal Auditorium From From Hwy 70, exit onto Montgomery and head east. Once you reach Myers St. take a left and you can follow the road to park next to the auditorium.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I have to buy tickets?
The Farmers Market is a free event open to the public. There will be tickets required for both the Drive-In Move, and the Feather River Float.

Q. What about parking?
There are two convenient parking locations:
  • River Bend Park (view map) From Hwy 70, exit onto Montgomery Street and head west approximately 350 yards towards the Feather River. As you enter the park, there is a large archway that reads “Feather River – Catch the Dream”
  • Municipal Auditorium From From Hwy 70, exit onto Montgomery and head east. Once you reach Myers St. take a left and you can follow the road to park next to the auditorium.

Q. What time will the shuttles run?
There will be no shuttle service this year.

Q. What about restrooms and ATM access?
There is a public restroom located at the corner of Myers and Robinson Streets.  During the Drive-In Movie there will be portable toilets by the Municipal Auditorium. During the Kayak Float there will be portable toilets underneath the Green Bridge. There will not be ATM access this year.


Q. When will the fish ladder gates open?
The fish ladder gates at the Fish Hatchery open in mid-September, just before the Salmon Festival.

Vendor & Participant Information

There will not be any vendor opportunities this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Pleas keep up to date on VisitOroville.com for potential vendor opportunities in the future.
