Each year the Oroville Salmon Festival celebrates the return of the salmon to the Feather River. This family-friendly event always takes place on the fourth Saturday in September. In 2023 the festival will be held on Saturday, September 23. You can scroll down to see what events you can expect in the 2022 Salmon Festival.

Friday, September 23
Salmon Soirée Hosted By The Friends of the Feather River Nature Center
Located at Centennial Plaza on the Levee behind the Oroville Convention Center Starts at 6:00 pm The Friends of the Feather River Nature Center will be hosting an outdoor Soirée at the beautiful Centennial Plaza overlooking the Feather river in Downtown Oroville. Attendees will enjoy small plates of hors d'oeuvres paired with beer and wine, live music and dancing. A raffle will take place during the event with some amazing prizes to win. Pancake Breakfast
YMCA Oroville Convention Center, 1200 Myers St.
Start by visiting the YMCA at the Convention Center for a Pancake Breakfast to launch the days events! Breakfast will be served from 7:30 - 9:00am. $5 for Pancakes, $7 for Pancakes, Sausage, Eggs, and Coffee or Juice. The YMCA at the Convention Center will also provide public restrooms and a cool place to come indoors all day.

Avie's Place 3K Color Run

Avie's Place Color Run is a fundraiser event for Avie's Place Park and Playground that will take place along the Feather River. You will run a 3K course and get covered in colored powder as you go. Every runner will receive an Avie's Place T-shirt and a pair of sunglasses and help build Avie's Place! Avie's Place will be a 2-acre American with Disabilities Act-certified park and playground in Oroville specifically designed for families of medically fragile children and our disabled
community.

Feather River Fish Hatchery, 5 Table Mountain Blvd.
The Feather River Fish Hatchery will be open for this year's festival! Learn everything there is to know about salmon by taking a free tour of the hatchery. Watch the salmon jump over the fish ladder and get up close with them at the viewing window. There will also be a mobile fish exhibit, nature related booths, live animals, and food available.

The Forebay Aquatic Center will be hosting their annual educational kayak floats down the Feather River starting at the Fish Hatchery and ending at Riverbend Park.

Come on down to the beautiful Historic Downtown Oroville for a variety of activities and things to see. The stores and restaurants that are a part of the Downtown Oroville area will be open for business with a variety of items and food to check out.
The Oroville State Theatre will be hosting nature videos provided by the Department of Water resources. These videos will feature the natural wonder of the Feather River basin and a free to watch.
The Feather River Senior Center will be serving their delicious chicken salad croissant sandwiches and ice cream tacos.
The Eagles Aerie #196 will be selling fresh made food outside of their Eagles building window on Myers near the Oroville Convention Center. The menu includes:

The Christian Faith Center will be hosting carnival style kids activities, balloon making, face painting, henna tattoos, and more! The Exchange Club of Oroville will also be hosting a sidewalk art chalk event in Parking Lot A.

In the upper Oroville Convention Center Parking Lot there will be a variety of food for you to try out from local vendors, food trucks, and the well-known BBQ Salmon made by the Oroville Optimist Club. After you pick something up to eat, head inside to the Oroville Convention Center to take a seat, enjoy your meal, and watch some presentations put on by the Oroville YMCA.

The NorCal PCW is going to be hosting a wrestling event just outside of the Oroville Convention Center! Come on down and see some wrestling demonstrations starting at 11:00 am.

Starting at 10:00 am for those 21 and older, Feather Falls Casino & Lodge presents this year's Salmon Festival Beer Garden at the Centennial Plaza. Live music from local bands will be playing while you enjoy your beer from Feather Falls Brewing Company or wine from Live Vine.

- River Bend Park (view map) From Hwy 70, exit onto Montgomery Street and head west approximately 350 yards towards the Feather River. As you enter the park, there is a large archway that reads “Feather River – Catch the Dream”
